At ET Tuning, we are frequently asked about adding turbo to a non-turbo car. Turbo charging involves forcing more air into the car's engine by adding an after market turbo booster. A typical car intakes about 60% of air volume into the cylinder before the intake valve closes it. Even a finely tuned naturally aspirated car will struggle to get to 85%. Adding a turbo charger on an engine with 10:1 compression ratio dramatically forces air volumetric efficiency anywhere from 110%-150%.
